Dear members of the RGU Community
On behalf of the Governing Board, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to our outgoing Provost and Dean, Dr. Samuel Joseph. We are grateful for his leadership and guidance for the past 2 years during a difficult period that presented many challenges and changes for the University. He was a valuable addition to our team and will always remain a member of our extended University family. We wish him well and much success as he moves forward with his new endeavors.
I am pleased to inform you that we have begun the process of identifying a worthy and suitable successor. This is a transition period within the administration, and we will provide additional information in the coming weeks of this semester. In the interim, it gives me great pleasure to announce that Dr. Sanjoy Sanyal, Dean of Basic Medical Sciences and Head of Department of Anatomical Sciences will assume the role as Provost and Dean ad interim at Richmond Gabriel University beginning June 2022. On behalf of the Governing Board, please join me in congratulating Dr. Sanyal and welcoming him into this new position.
Throughout his tenure as Professor, Head of Department and Dean of Basic Sciences, Dr. Sanyal has remained a dynamic and accomplished academician and leader in his profession. He has been a constant force during the seasonal changes of the institution over the years and has remained a pillar of support and unwavering strength for the faculty, students, and staff. The leadership of this institution is confident that Dr. Sanyal will demonstrate the same intellectual rigor, strategic thinking, dedication, and enormous energy needed during this transitional phase at the University.
As Dr. Sanjoy assumes the position of Provost and Dean ad interim, I offer my full support to him in this new position and look forward to the new direction and heights of achievement for RGU under his strong leadership.
Sincerely
Mane Paulpillai, MD
